Uncle Scot & Sooty's Birthday

Sooty's birthday is on the 6th of June and she gets to share the special day with a very special man, Uncle Scot. He's mum's younger brother and he's living in Singapore now. I heard from Sooty that he's the most awesome guy in the world and she's totally in love with him. Happy Birthday, Uncle Scot! Hope you've had a great birthday. Mum and dad told me that Uncle Scot has helped to save my life last winter but I can't remember much about him. I have the memory of a goldfish and I forget everything that is more than 15 seconds old.

She just turned two but she's acting like she's turned 82. Now that her heat is over, she's got zero tolerance for me. She's always grumpy with me and when I try to go near her to play nowadays, she yells at me! Tells me off and doesn't want anything to do with me. It upsets me heaps but I never stop trying (that's the spirit of Boy Boy, the man). I still keep annoying her to play and sometimes, she gives in and chases me around the house for a short while and that chase is usually done in disgust associated with my childishness.

Anyway, getting back to birthdays. Sooty once told me how great birthdays are.... U get lots of presents and lots of treats but she's greatly disappointed with her's this year. Mum and dad were busy. Dad had Trudy's memorial service to attend and there were lots of preparation involved. Mum had to rush to develop a photo of Trudy's at the last minute so her service will have a recent pic of her. After that, with the help of Opa, they had to move all the bigger and bulkier stuff from Trudy's house back to either ours or Jenny's. That all took a lot of time.

After a disappointing start to her day, Sooty was starting to feel depressed (despite mummy buying her and of course me some treats), dad came home with a surprise. A recliner! Trudy left that in her will to dad. Sooty was rapt! She thought that was her birthday gift from dad and as you would be able to see from the pics afterwards, she's pretty much declared it as hers, contrary to popular belief. It's supposed to be dad's but Sooty doesn't think so. It's her birthday so anything that enters the door belongs to her.
In the end, Opa stayed for dinner alone (much to the dismay of mum and maybe Opa because a guest was missing from the dinner table) and the 3 of them enjoyed a feast of home made rissoles and potato scallop. Mum also learnt a lot about cooking from Opa. He used to be a chef! WOW! I wish he would cook me something.
On Sooty's birthday, mum, dad and Opa went up to the new house to see if there has been any progress and there is! The following are some of the updates on the property. ..

To end this post, I shall post some pics of Sooty enjoying her birthday gift!

Feeling pretty blessed to get to share it with Sooty

That's all folks! An end to how we spent the day on Sooty's birthday.
